“The new world will create countless new professions and positions… The most important thing will be our willingness to change “non-stop,” to constantly learn from everything. Whoever takes control of the tempo and frequency – will lead.” Jacob Morgan, American job market futurist (2017)
In a job market where the only static thing is change, we must constantly examine our professional skills and capabilities, and consider approaches we should adopt to advance ourselves. Skills have therefore become the most important currency in the labor market. Those young people and workers who acquire and maintain a strong foundation of 21st Century Skills will remain resilient and relevant in an ever-changing world of work.
In this session, we will discuss the core skills that JDC integrates into its broad range of employment and training programs which target those most in need of skill development, including: coping with uncertainty and change, digital literacy, lifelong learning, and networking, as well as promoting a basic employability foundation such as motivation and self-efficacy. as well as the models we are developing for disseminating those skills to a wide variety of audiences- in Hebrew, English, and Arabic.
