Getting on the Slash Track
Wednesday, March 15, 2023| 1:00 pm – 1:50 pm ET
(Join us until 2:15 pm for continued conversation)
It is well-known that what gives people “job security” and employability are the knowledge, skills, and abilities that they offer. At the same time, with major changes happening to the way in which work is performed, financial security can come from having multiple income streams. Slash Careers help people develop their talents and skill set while having various ways to make money. This approach helps people make the “gig economy” work in their favor and grow both personally and professionally in ways that might not be possible by focusing on one job or career track. This session is designed to help us as workforce development professionals think creatively about our clients’ vocational progress and provide ideas for navigating this innovative approach to career development.
Facilitator: Lisa August, Career Services Counselor, Jewish Family Services of WNY and Co-chair, Workforce Development Professionals NETGroup
