In response to many requests for updates on Hurricane Ida and its impact on our colleagues from JFS New Orleans, we are writing to let you know that while the community slowly begins the process of re-building and recovery, those in need are being encouraged to connect with local JFS and other Jewish human service agencies in communities where they have relocated. The JFS New Orleans website now includes a link to the NJHSA Member Agency Locator to facilitate referrals. Should your agency receive inquiries from residents of New Orleans or the surrounding communities in Louisiana, please be sure to connect with Roselle Ungar, Executive Director of JFS New Orleans at firstname.lastname@example.org to let her know how your agency is assisting.
Additionally, please help to circulate this link to the JFS New Orleans website for those wishing to make cash donations to support recovery efforts.
Donations can be made via the JFS New Orleans website at https://jfsneworleans.org/donate/. Donors can indicate that their donation is to address needs associated with Hurricane Ida.
We will continue to keep you updated as the recovery situation continues to develop.
Thank you, in advance, for your support of our colleagues at JFS New Orleans.
