After ten years of outstanding service and accomplishment on behalf of Jewish Child and Family Service of Chicago and the community, President and Chief Executive Officer Howard Sitron has announced his plan to retire on July 1, 2020. Prior to coming to JCFS, Howard served as COO at JFCS Philadelphia for several years.
Under Howard’s direction, JCFS has grown its family of services through mergers with HIAS Chicago and JVS. Those mergers, along with Howard’s vision for services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, have combined to further strengthen its foundation.
In addition, numerous programs and facilities have been established that have solidified our impact and leadership in the Jewish community and beyond. These include a synagogue partnership program, the Abe and Ida Cooper Center, the Access call center and the Skokie social service campus currently under development.
Howard took great pride in having been a partner in the development and growth of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies.
Through Howard’s leadership, JCFS has clarified its intended impact in order to better serve the community into the future. He leaves a lasting legacy by building the strong and sustainable organization enjoyed today.
