The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies joins the world in shock and despair in the wake of the most recent mass shootings which took place over the last few days in El Paso, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; and Gilroy, California.
We urge Congress and the Administration to take necessary steps to respond to the marked increase in domestic terrorism and respond not only with thoughts and prayers but with increased oversight to limit the likelihood of more violence and bloodshed. As Jewish human service providers, the agencies of NJHSA become front-line responders providing comfort to traumatized communities and addressing the lasting impact the violence leaves behind.
This week, we stand with colleagues in Texas, Ohio and California who are left to pick up the pieces of shattered communities.
May the memories of those who lost their lives be forever a blessing for our nation and our world.
