Supplemental EFSP Aid for Agencies Serving Migrants

As you may know, Congress recently signed into law a $4.95 billion supplemental border aid package. This package included $30 million to the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) to assist nonprofits and state agencies serving recently released migrants from DHS detention.
EFSP has released this preliminary notice to determine which jurisdictions are in need of the designated funds. If your agency is currently serving recently released migrants, please contact your Local EFSP Boards as soon as possible and let them know so that the State Set-Aside Committees can accurately reflect the needs of your agency and community when developing its funding request.
Note: This funding is not intended to develop new programs, but has been designated to support those already serving this population.
So that we have an accurate sense of the work that your agencies are doing and which communities are most in need, please let us know if your agency is providing these services.
Please contact Darcy L. Hirsh, Washington Representative, NJHSA with any questions.
