EFSP: Next Funding Phase Soon
Last month, our JFNA colleagues indicated that the FY 2020 Phase 38 Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) grant opportunity would commence on or about November 18th. The National Board will now officially announce this allocations ($125M total) to qualifying counties and cities the week of December 14.
Once Local Boards receive the official allocation announcement/Local Board Plan, they can advertise the availability of funding in the local print media, call for the submission of applications, and determine which local social service organizations are to be awarded funds. Agency names and award amounts are captured in Local Board Plans and are sent to the National Board. The National Board will begin to disburse funds to agencies identified for awards as Local Board Plans are received and approved. Once posted, local recipient organizations will have 10 days to submit applications to their Local Boards.
If your agency would like to apply for the Phase 38 funding opportunity, contact your Local Boards now to alert them of your intent to apply and to seek relevant local instructions.
