The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies recognizes that Holocaust education is critically important. Introduced by Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Daniel Donovan (R-NY), the Never Again Education Act (H.R. 5460) is a bipartisan bill that uses private donations to provide teachers with the resources and training they need to teach children the important lessons of the Holocaust and the consequences of bigotry and hate.
This bill would help teachers overcome common hurdles to Holocaust education, including lack of resources and lack of funding. It would require the creation of a Holocaust education website and would connect curriculum experts at the Department of Education with Holocaust educators to develop programs tailored to the individual needs of teachers and communities.
Join us in showing Congress how important Holocaust education is to the Jewish community and to the entire country. Together, we can use our collective voices to urge the House Education and Workforce Committee to markup this bill and bring it to the House floor for a vote.
Sign the Jewish Federations of North America’s coalition letter here by Thursday, June 21st (signatures must be from organizations; we cannot accept individual signatures).
Please contact your House representatives to urge them to cosponsor the bill. At this time, Members of Congress are being asked to cosponsor in bipartisan pairs.
Please contact Mindy Brodsky, NJHSA Washington Representative and JFNA Director of Government Affairs, with any questions or feedback. Thank you for joining us in this vital effort.
