The Network joined 74 advocacy groups in urging the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Alex Azar, to implement the provisions passed in the Recognize, Assist, Include, Support, and Engage (RAISE) Family Caregivers Act (P.L. 115-119) immediately. The law calls for the Department of Health and Human Services to develop a strategic plan to support family caregivers. This will include the Department forming an advisory council, as well as identifying recommended actions that communities, providers, government, and others are taking and may take to support family caregivers. NJHSA supports the implementation of this law, signed by the President in January, and hopes that Secretary Azar takes quick and decisive action to help our nation’s family caregivers.
