Footsteps' next cultural awareness workshop on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 12:00 - 1:30 P.M. This session will focus on countertransference and religious trauma. By taking part in this training, you will learn: 1. How to notice when countertransference is happening to you, specifically with regard to religious trauma 2. How to navigate the situation when it happens to you in session 3. Whether it’s a teen experimenting, or a caregiver’s use that's creating instability, these situations call for skillful, compassionate support. Dr. Mita M. Johnson, a clinician and addiction educator with over 30 years of experience, will guide this live, interactive session on August 26, from 9:00am to 12:00pm (PDT). You’ll gain practical tools for recognizing concerns, starting important conversations, and responding in ways that keep the family system in mind.

This training will explore definitions, DSM criteria, and a range of paradigms and models related to the onset and lived experiences of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Participants will gain foundational knowledge to accurately assess and diagnose OCD, along with best practices for treatment and recovery. 6 CEU Credits.
