FIRE Seeks Noncitizen Plaintiffs Impacted by Speech-Based Deportation

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to defending free speech in the United States, is seeking noncitizen plaintiffs for a potential legal challenge to the federal government’s unconstitutional targeting of immigrants for their protected speech and advocacy.

FIRE is particularly interested in connecting with organizations and individuals who have:

  • Experienced decreased participation in advocacy from noncitizen staff or clients

  • Diverted resources in response to chilling effects on speech

  • Observed increased self-censorship due to fear of deportation, visa cancellation, or green card denial
