The Network is proud to partner with HIAS in support of Together in Welcome, a nationwide, interfaith initiative taking place June 6 – July 6 to reaffirm our shared commitment to welcoming refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers.

This month of action includes community vigils across the country and aligns with historically significant dates:

  • June 6 marks the anniversary of the MS St. Louis being turned away from U.S. shores in 1939.

  • July 6 commemorates the signing of the Alien Enemies Act in 1798.

  • June 20, World Refugee Day, serves as a global reminder of the enduring need to support displaced populations.

Through these vigils, communities are invited to reflect, gather in solidarity, and publicly declare that we will not abandon our identity as a nation rooted in welcome, dignity, and human rights. The vigils also serve as a powerful response to the historic and ongoing harm caused by xenophobic policies.
